Open video editorHow to edit your first video
1. Import video, images and audio
Choose Add assets in the editor to select files from your device. Place imported assets on the timeline and use separate tracks to combine visuals and sound.
2. Trim and split clips
Adjust the start and end of a clip to keep the section you need. Split a clip into separate sections to arrange scenes and apply effects independently.
3. Adjust speed and motion
Change playback speed and add entrance, exit, movement, rotation or zoom effects. Adjust the timing of each effect and preview the result to check motion and audio.
4. Save your editable project
Save creates an .agoneco project so you can continue editing later. Use Save as to choose another file or Save a copy to keep a separate version. Use Export when you need a finished video.
5. Export your finished video
Choose MP4 for a regular video, or ProRes 4444 MOV when you need transparency for compositing. Use PNG for image output.
Choose the right output format
MP4
Use MP4 for a finished video you want to play or share. MP4 export requires WebCodecs support in your browser.
Transparent MOV
ProRes 4444 MOV supports an alpha channel for compositing over other footage. Your composition must have a transparent background.
PNG
Use PNG to export image output.
.agoneco
This project format preserves your arrangement and effects for further editing. It serves a different purpose from a playable video file.
Frequently asked questions
Is it free?
Yes. AGONECO Video Editor is a free browser-based editing tool.
Are my files uploaded?
Imported media is processed on your device. Automatic backups are stored in this browser. Conversion tools and fonts are downloaded from a CDN when first needed.
Can I edit long videos?
There is no fixed video duration limit. The files and output sizes you can handle depend on available memory, storage, browser support and codecs. Save an .agoneco project file during longer editing sessions.
Which browser should I use?
We recommend a current version of Chrome or Edge. WebGL2 is required. MP4 export, codec support and file-saving capabilities vary by browser.
Is automatic backup enough?
Automatic backups use local storage in your current browser. Save an .agoneco file before clearing browser data or moving to another device.
Where can I suggest a feature or report a problem?
Share your feedback on the AGONECO suggestion board. For a bug report, include your browser, steps to reproduce the issue and any error message.
